PEARLS FROM BROOME Famous for the large cultured Australian South Sea Pearls grown in the oyster species Pinctada Maxima, these pearls are considered the finest in the world. Growing alongside these pearls are the smaller seedless pearls, oft-times referred to as Keshi. It is these naturally shaped pearls that are chosen for the hand-crafted jewellery made by Australian Natural Gem Jewellery.
BLACK PEARLS FROM THE ABROLHOS ISLANDS Not far off the coast of Geraldton lie the Abrolhos Islands, which have provided us with a savage and mysterious history. A minute string to atolls, some protected from the forces of nature, provide an ideal environment for the growing of magnificent black pearls. Cape Inscription Pearls Abrolhos Islands Pearl Farm nurture the growing of Pinctada margaritifera and Pteria penguin species of oysters. These oysters produce pearls in the many shades of black synonymous with the species: greens, peacocks, aubergine, silver grey. The pearls, combined with the natural nuggets and coloured diamonds, are definitely for the lover of the exotic. | NUGGETS FROM NULLAGINE The regions of the Pilbara, Midwest and Goldfields are rich in gold deposits with many large mines and commercial operations, but the prospector's paradise is the beautiful Pilbara. People say the gold from around Nullagine has the best colour, is the most pure and the nuggets are prized for their interesting shapes. My friend Scotty has spent many years searching out rich alluvial deposits around Nullagine and gives me the opportunity to have first pick of each season's prospecting. The nuggets reflect the shapes of the seedless pearls and combined with the natural colours of the diamonds create beautiful Australian Natural Gem Jewellery.
